"We met with Susan before we were married and after, over the course of three years. She was great at helping us navigate really practical issues and we have a much stronger partnership as a result. She offered a great mix of "technical" learning of psychotherapy concepts and real world thoughts on how to handle tough situations. She has been an invaluable resource to us. I highly recommend Susan without reservation. Her skills and talents are unparalleled".

What am I like as a Therapist? My patients would describe me as warm, engaging and interactive. I am a therapist who listens actively, challenging and encouraging your growth. I am committed to working very hard with my patients to achieve their goals.
My patients come to me for a range of reasons. They may be trapped in old patterns of behavior. They become stuck in their lives and relationships, or might be having difficulty with dating, romance and intimacy. Many of the people I see live in paradox: they have successful careers but remain unhappy in their personal lives. Others may face conflict in their family relationships or troubles with parenting. All the people I see share the desire to get past their blocks and enjoy a more fulfilling life.
For 25 years as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I have been working with adults in individual, couples, group therapy and sex therapy. I also am a sex therapist certified by the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Sex Therapists. I obtained this very specialized credential because emotional issues and sexual issues can be tightly linked, meaning that I am able to evaluate a sex therapy issue from both a psychological, medical and health view point. When necessary, I work with closely with physicians and other experts.
A major part of my practice is working with couples. The two main things couples fight about are sex and money. I help couples resolve both of these issues. Couples also seek therapy to rekindle intimacy and resolve marital conflicts; or sometimes to embark on an amicable divorce. As a parent and step parent, I work particularly well with couples who are struggling with step parenting in blended families.
How will we work together? Straight talk. My style is straightforward, based on years of training and life experiences. We will work together on creating and achieving the goals that you desire.
