Insurance

Susan Segal, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Washington D.C. Currently, Susan Segal, LCSW & Associates does NOT participate with ANY insurance companies or panels. Services rendered qualify for some reimbursement with most insurance plans. You will be provided with the required information so that you may submit it to your insurance company for reimbursement. Almost all insurance companies, except for HMO's like Kaiser Permanente and other HMO's, will pay some reimbursement for psychotherapy.

To determine if your insurance has mental health coverage you will need to call your insurance company and ask the following questions:

  1. Do I have mental health benefits?

  2. What is the coverage amount per session?

  3. How much does my insurance pay for an out of network provider?

  4. Is approval necessary from my primary physician?

  5. How much do you reimburse for following CPT codes: 90791, 90834, 90847, 90853?



Please note that Susan Segal, LCSW & Associates is NOT a "participating provider" with any insurance company. Also please note that you will probably be reimbursed at a lower rate when you see someone who is not a "participating provider". Participating providers are often less experienced therapists who need the referrals and are building a practice. If you decide to meet with Susan for a consultation and therapy, you would pay Susan Segal, LCSW & Associates directly either by cash, check or an electronic transfer such as Zelle or Venmo. At the end of the month you will receive an invoice with the proper coding on it so that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
